About Danny

I’ve always been very entrepreneurial and I’m the only one like that in our family, everybody else has always done employed jobs either 9-5 or working shifts as an employee. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve done 9-5 jobs before, more than enough of them to know it’s not what I want! I’ve always wanted more out of life and have always been prepared to go the extra mile for it.

All throughout my life I’ve often had money making ideas and that started when I was still in school. I must point out that all of these little ventures were totally legal and above board!

I continued with several business ventures after I left school and went into full-time employment and in some cases my ‘side ventures’ made more income than my job! Its funny looking back at the old days isn’t it?!

I’ve always been driven to succeed for my whole life and I must admit I’m very competitive and do not like losing! When I was a young lad up until the age of about 15 or 16, my friends and family remind me I was a bad loser! It’s true I was a bad loser in those days! Today, rather than sulk when things don’t go to plan, I ask myself “What can I do differently next time to make it work or improve it?” Now that’s a better quality question to ask isn’t it?!

I remember back to when I was 9 years of age and 2 of my brothers, Kieran and Neil, and I got home after school and my mum said she wanted to have a chat with my older brother Kieran and I. She sat us down and told us our younger brother Neil was autistic. She explained what that was, in a way 9 and 10 year olds could understand and I vividly remember starting to cry… and I said “Mum don’t worry I’ll always see that he’s looked after, at least financially, no matter where I live in the world!

Neil Scahill

I still say that to my mum today.

 This has always been one of the driving forces in my life;
Neil’s a big part of why I do what I do.

I gave my word to my mum when I was a boy that I would look after him
 and I will do.

 Here’s my brother Neil.

I’ve been very lucky in life

I’ve had a really good upbringing and I can honestly say that (within reason) I’ve had everything I’ve ever wanted. My parents both had good jobs and we were all well looked after (I’ve 3 brothers, 1 sister and 2 dogs!) and we didn’t want for anything really, we were and are very lucky! I fully intend to look after and provide for my parents the way they did for me, so I will return the favour.

I live just outside London in the UK and they live up north in Liverpool. I’ll see they never want for anything for their remaining years (of which I hope there’s plenty more of!). My purpose in life is a very big purpose and looking after my brother Neil and my parents is part of that purpose.

I decided several years ago now that my purpose was to help millions of people around the world become healthy and wealthy whilst at the same time creating total freedom in my life! Today I divide my time and energy between my  Chiropractic practice and also in a separate Health and Performance Consulting role.

It’s been an interesting journey so far…

Today I’m a Chiropractor, Speaker & Peak Performance Consultant. If I may, now I’d like to tell you about where and how I started and how I ended up where I am today. As I’ve already mentioned 2 of my driving forces are to help my younger brother and my parents. How did I get into Chiropractic in the first place though? A very good friend of mine always says “In life there are no mistakes!” and I totally agree with that statement.

kickboxing When I was 15 I was very active, exercising a lot playing football twice a day and also doing kick-boxing 3 times per week as well so I was very fit. A positive side effect of this was that I handled stress very well when it came into my life.

However, I had a big kick-boxing tournament coming up, so to get bigger and stronger, I bought some heavy weights for my birthday, against my dad’s better judgement.

He told me I was too young and not fully grown yet so lifting heavy weights was a bad idea… and he was right! I injured my shoulder and low back lifting the heavy weights and had to stop playing football and doing kick-boxing as they both aggravated my injuries.

Constantly Studying

At the time I was in the middle of my GCSE coursework and studying for my exams as well. Without the outlet of exercise I started to feel stress in my life for the first time and I didn’t like it at all! I started to fall behind in my coursework and get really stressed out and at first tried to handle it myself and didn’t tell anyone. That didn’t work surprise, surprise! It eventually got way too much for me and I started having panic attacks, getting paranoid and feeling other symptoms of depression.

I have a big appetite for food (although you wouldn’t know it to look at me!) and at the time of all that stress I also went off my food and ever since then if I go off my food I know that something’s not right! So I decided to tell my mum and dad about all mess I thought I was in with my school work. We talked about it and the next day they rang my year head teacher to explain everything and within a few weeks I was up to date and my problems with school work and coursework were sorted!

I still had the injuries, but felt much better mentally, I was ‘Thinking Well’ again and ‘Eating Well’ again but I was not ‘Moving Well’ yet. My shoulder problems continued on and off for approx another 10 years or so and ultimately lead to me becoming a Chiropractor.

Massive Stress

Stressed Out I did have another similar period of massive stress 2 years later when I was 17 during my A-Levels which, looking back was again largely to do with not being able to exercise to release the stress and therefore I couldn’t perform anywhere near my best.

After this episode I noticed a pattern emerging and found some exercise that I could do pain free which helped me stay a lot more balanced mentally from that point onwards!
Another thing I found really helped to de-stress me was dance music, particularly Trance.

At this point I started seeing a physiotherapist for treatment. I continued with physio for approx 9 months with little or no improvement so Osteopathy was the next thing I tried after physio

After a few short weeks, Osteopathy really started to help my shoulder and low back injuries and I became interested in this healing art. I noticed Osteopaths could help lots people and also make a good living as well.

Cancelled My University Application To Study Law

As I had applied to do Law at university, I was doing weekly work experience at a Solicitors office every Friday afternoon as an office junior which was very boring. I looked at the prospect of working in a Solicitors office as a Solicitor for the rest of my life, compared to being an Osteopath and it was no contest! I immediately cancelled my application to study Law and applied for Osteopathic College soon after that.

In the autumn of 1997 I went to Osteopathic College in Bristol, UK and really enjoyed it.  I studied part-time whilst working to pay for it! In the year 2000, at the end of my 3rd year, when I could almost see the finish line, the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) were validating and regulating the profession and they closed the college down because it was a part-time course  rather than full-time!  At this time I decided I’d apply to start training to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.

I was offered a place at WIOC in South Wales to start 1 year later so I started in Sept 2001 and not given any credit for my 3 years Osteopathic training! As it happens, during that foundation year of Chiropractic training  I met some great friends and partied hard so it was all good! I also did a bit of work too! Another bonus was that the first 2 years at university were easy going for me because I’d covered a lot of the syllabus in Osteopathy already which was nice.

Music Is In My Soul!

I mentioned earlier that I found that listening to Dance music really helped to de-stress me. I’ve really enjoyed dance music for the last 20 years, I just connected with it, to me music is spirit, and it takes me to another place, escapism I guess. If you’re a music lover then you’ll know exactly what I mean! In the year 2000/01 I continued working a really stressful office job, whilst I counted the days to going away to university!

During this time I bought some DJ record decks, a mixer + lots of records and learnt how to DJ!

I practiced for 4-6 hours every day. Eventually after about 6 months,
I became very good at it (according to a friend of mine who was a Professional Club DJ at that time).

When I left for university my parents and the next door neighbours were very glad because they were now able to get some peace and quiet from my music blasting out for hours every day!

I started at WIOC at Glamorgan University in Sept 2001 and graduated with BSc (Hons) Chiropractic in June 2006. In total for me, including Osteopathy training, it was 8 years training!  During my 5 years at WIOC I worked hard and partied hard as well because I believe life is all about balance! I was still massively into dance music during University and throughout the 5 years I did lots of djing at night clubs and parties in Cardiff as well.

Today I still have a massive passion for dance music, especially Trance music. I still DJ and produce my own music and fully intend to get back into promoting my own club nights in the near future so watch this space!

After I graduated I went travelling with a good mate of mine round Europe for 6 weeks and had a great time! During that time I decided I was going to work in Dublin, Ireland for my first job as a Chiropractor. Whilst I was there for 1 week I opened the yellow pages (golden pages over there!) and ripped out the pages listing Chiropractors and phoned every one of them and got 2 interviews sorted for the next day!

Both interviews went well but I really wanted the first one. 3 weeks later I was offered the job I wanted and I accepted it, packed up my things in Liverpool and moved to Dublin within a few days! I worked in Dublin from 2006 – 2009 for just over 3 years at 2 different practices and during that time I learnt so much about ‘how to run a successful business’ and more importantly how ‘not to run a business!’ The lessons I learnt were priceless…

I was also introduced to ‘The Secret’ whilst working in that first Chiropractic office in Dublin. Thank you Angela Henderson for showing us the DVD in our team training! The concept of the secret was nothing new to me in that what you put out there comes back to you, watching ‘The Secret’ definitely made much more conscious of what I said and what I did and what effect that could have on myself and other people.

Experts have said if you watch the Secret 7 or more times then your brain becomes wired to having a positive mindset. I’ve watched it over 20 times now…

I’ve always been fascinated with what makes successful people successful. I’m always looking to see what’s the ‘difference that makes the difference.’ These curiosities lead to me to train in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which is essentially the study of excellence. It focuses on sharpening your neurology (the way your brain works), mastering effective communication (the language you use) and changing the programmes you run every day (change bad habits).

Over the last 10 years I’ve been studying with and spent £1000’s training with some of the greatest minds in business training and personal development. I’ve trained with Dr. John Demartini, T Harv Eker, Anthony Robbins, Christopher Howard, Daniel Wagner and many, many more experts.

They’re all ultra successful in their respective niches and this is due largely to the fact that every single one of them took massive action to turn their dreams into reality!
